1996 Summer Olympics Games of the XXVI Olympiad

The 1996 Summer Olympics were held in the city of Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The games were formally known as Games of the XXVI Olympiad, though some media outlets referred to them as Centennial Olympics. This is the second time the games were being staged in American soil after the 1984 Olympic Games were held in Los Angeles.

Many professional essay writing services that offer to buy a research paper criticize how the city managed the games. They sought a lot of financial help from sponsors and this posed a problem to IOC in advertising and sponsorships. The Olympic torch was lit during the ceremony by a former Boxing Olympics champion Muhammad Ali. He had won a gold medal during the 1960 Summer Olympics
The games saw for the first time in its history Naim Süleymanoğlu become the first weightlifter to win three gold medals in a single Olympiad. Other notable moments of the Olympics was the gold medal Lee Lai Shan won for Hong Kong. This is the only medal Hong Kong won in the Olympics as a British Colony.
